Rain Says

by Linda Boyden

Rain says:I will snarl thunder at you
nibble the nectar of your roots
crave the caverns of your flesh
tattoo your skin in mosaics
tether your heart and
river you with my love
but when the planet sways
and bitters my song
then will I leave you only the shards
for I am your Persephone.
